Dumb Posh Hippies release new single, “Scrunched Up Fist”

Radiating enough energy to take the head off of any gig-goer, the band boast a string of shows across Dublin’s best small venues - Sin É, Fibbers, The Thomas House and LoSt LaNe, to name but a few.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Darragh Hansard in Orcs Lair studio, new single “Scrunched Up Fist” is a two-and-a-half-minute track that packs a sure punch, blending the band's signature concoction of relentless rhythms, thick basslines and fuzzy riffage, with splashes of cacophony to keep you on your toes. About the single, lead vocalist and guitarist Ciarán Fitz explains:

“This is definitely one of the most outright punkers we have, probably. ‘Scrunched Up Fist’ was literally written in the jam room in 10 minutes. Matthew and James were just playing this thing as I was coming back from a smoke, and I knew I had lyrics in my phone that would work with it. Added some guitar but not much, and it was donezo”

Releasing special collaborative album ”Hit The Remix Button Vol.1” only two weeks ago, (a collection that comprises remixed versions of songs from their 2023 “King of Kimmage” EP, all produced by Irish artists) Dumb Posh Hippies’ “Scrunched Up Fist” single kicks off somewhat of a new chapter for the trio - and is one of many gems from their melting pot of ideas.

A relentless, infectious new release, “Scrunched Up Fist” helps continue to propel Dumb Posh Hippies to the forefront of Irish punk.
