Bazerk

Bazerk are a rap-rock group from Los Angeles, California who incorporate a wide range of styles in a hard-hitting, high-energy performance. If you meshed Rage Against the Machine and Public Enemy together you’d be thinking on the right tracks.

Today we’re listening to a few tracks that they’ve kindly shared with us, we’ll dive straight in with a song that’s already available on Spotify (link below) with “On my Ali”

Straight away you can hear the Rage Against the Machine influence with a very funkesque riff starting us off, front man Zu reminds me of Chuck D from Public Enemy a lot, the power in the words resonate through you straight away with an uplifting message in the song “Have you for gotten how powerful and great you are”

Next up we’ve got “uh oh” which is a bit of a heavier track and really reminds of “broke” era Hed (PE) we got a bit more punch in the guitar riffs with a very catchy chorus to boot, only thing I wasn’t a huge fan on was the DJ scratching at times seemed too much but maybe just my preference.

Last but not least, we listened to “Haver Mercy” live in Hollywood. Frontman Zu has such a great stage presence and the audience is eating up the show. The song really reminds me of early 00’s nu metal, it’s a great throwback with some great simple but effective riffs throughout.

Bazerk have some great tracks out already and more to come definitely one to keep an eye on, be sure to follow them on Instagram below!
