Sicksense - ‘Cross Me Twice’
Today we listened a brand new album from Sicksense ‘Cross me twice’
The album starts with the track ‘Sellout’. This track has an anthemic feel, clean vocals and brutal screams combine to create an atmosphere that keeps you fixated, even a couple of rap lines which shows the ability for this band to diversify and make it work!
Next up was ‘Wildfires’. The guitar work stands out on this piece, the pinched harmonics really add to the feel of this track. Written to compliment the vocal performance. This is a whiplash inducing track combined with haunting beautiful vocals
‘Throwback’ focuses more on the rap element, extremely well written and gets stuck in your head. There is a great build up to the end of this track with the drums at the forefront.
Fever dream & invisible- these tracks almost combine/ They begin with an almost creepy operatic feel, drawing you in and creating an atmosphere that keeps you wondering what will come next. Sicksense once again showing their ability to blend different styles of music and make it work so well. My feeling so far is that these songs take you on a musical journey that keeps surprising when you least expect it
‘On repeat’ - as the name suggests you will want this on repeat! Sledgehammer like guitar riffs turn the metal up on this track to 11.
‘Masquerade parade’ - everything in this track is on point, the guitar and drum pieces work together in a beautiful musical unison.
A BLEND OF MUSICAL STYLES
In this carousel - this track is bursting with raw emotion which the guitar solo only adds to by the bucketload. I love the creepy operatic vibe that keeps sneaking its way into these pieces.
Here come all the memories - this is a short track that feels like more of a build up to the final piece on this album ‘follow me’
Follow me - a fitting end to the album that wraps up an incredible listening experience.

Every song feels like an experiment that’s has turned out perfectly. It’s not very often that a combination of musical styles come together and fit so well they create an album that is unforgettable.
