Theftuous

Theftuous

I should begin this review by stating I’ve listened to One Minute Silence since I was around 8 years old, when my brother would play his CD’s he’d got from gigs he’d been to. So when I heard Theftuous a few years ago in their first single “Entity” I knew I’d be a huge fan of anymore work they did and i’m bloody glad they’ve brought out this EP.

Theftuous are metal band compromising of some well-known musicians from nu metal bands such as Snot in John Fahnestock, Massimo Fiocco guitarist for One Minute Silence and finally Marcus Harrington and Pat Garvey of Relative Ash and Ozric Tentacles fame.

Although from different parts of the world, Theftuous have put out a few singles in recent years and they’ve released their debut E.P “All I Deserve” in June 2024. As a longtime fan of One Minute Silence, it seemed only right to give this EP a review!

Instantly you’ll recognise that the EP has some special guests on the tracks and first up is “Automatic Happiness” featuring Benji Webbe of Skindred and Brian “Yapp” Barry from One Minute Silence. This is an absolute banger with a great catchy riff through the chorus of the song you’ll struggle to get this off repeat!

It’s hard to single out songs as their all fantastic and thoroughly recommend you listen to it yourselves after reading our review of course! “Gorgeous Pale” shows us the incredible range that Marcus brings to the group, bringing some great harsh vocals backed with incredibly catchy chorus. The vocals are complimented excellently by the bass that pulses through the track with the fast-paced drum attack in the verses. Seriously an incredible track, straight into the headbangerhq playlist

Last one we thought we’d highlight is “Cannibal”. This track was released last year as a single so I’ve had this on quite a few times since it was released and this is a straight up sonic assault with brutal riffs going through the verses with such an incredible bass tone resonating in the song with an incredible section in the bridge. Again, the vocal range you hear throughout this song is just fantastic.

Our Rating 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is an incredible debut by seasoned veterans of the metal scene, and we strongly recommend you get this on your Spotify playlist. We’ve only covered 3 songs and there’s even more to get your teeth into so be sure to check them out.
