Wither are a 5-piece Groove metal band from the West Midlands, UK. Drawing from a wide range of influences to bring their own hard-hitting riffs, the West Midland boys definitely showcase their unique sound in their debut EP "Plagued By Pessimism," which we're delving into today.
Plagued By Pessimism
The title track of the EP kicks off with a very hardcore influence to it. With fantastic riffs and great harsh vocals early in the track, it's an absolute brutal opener to the EP.
Next up we have “In the Midst of Misery” a killer track with riffs that are fantastic throughout the EP. The bass and drums pounding through the track only embolden these riffs. The killer breakdown towards the end will undoubtedly be a highlight live.
God Complex
Kicking off the track, you're immediately drawn into the great riff. "God Complex" is like a hammer to the head, straight to point and brutally effective. The vocals continue to be strong with the anger dripping from every line with some clearer sections to only lure you into the brutality that soon awaits. It features an absolutely gnarly bassline towards the end of the track before coming back to you with hammer blow after hammer blow. An absolute banger.
