MJayNumberOne is a solo artist from Connecticut, USA. Having started developing a passion for making music in high school winning talent shows during that time, he's now developing and making music further with a penchant for positivity and motivation for everyone to hear throughout the tracks.
We've been kindly sent the new album created by MJayNumberOne entitled "SUMMERtime POPsicles" which has been a project in the works for a few years but now it's finished with hopes to capture the spirit of summer.
When Mjay sent over the album he said it wasn't perfect but we'll begin by saying it's extremely well mixed straight away from the opening track "SUMMERtime POPsicles. The beats are crisp, the instrumentation is well-balanced, and the overall sound quality is impressive. It's clear that MJayNumberOne has invested a significant amount of time and effort into perfecting the sonic landscape of each track
MJayNumberOne's track "I (Need a) Bad Gurl" is an electrifying blend of rhythm and melody, masterfully arranged to capture the essence of raw desire and attraction. It's fast pace throughout the track explode with intensity and showcase a high energy throughout the track. The track isn't just about the lyrics but a great catchy beat that persists with the track with a.beautiful section in the chorus with a powerful piano riff.
Another highlight of the album comes from "No Regrets". Instantly you feel that resonant basslines and pulsating beats that establish a commanding tone from the get-go. The soundscape builds and evolves dynamically, with each meticulously crafted layer reinforcing the track's fierce narrative.
Showcasing his range in "Impossible" you get a much slower Rnb track that has such a distinct sound with a very catchy guitar riff throughout it. While a very different style to the rest of the album, this just highlights the quality of work in MJay. MJay's vocal delivery is particularly compelling, balancing vulnerability and strength, and drawing listeners in with its authenticity. The production quality is stellar, ensuring that every element of the song is clear and impactful, creating a cohesive and immersive experience.
Lastly out of the ones we'll be highlighting in the review (be sure to check out the rest of the album this is just our picks!) we've got Lonely Dayz (La la la version). Soon as the track begins you're greeted with a old school vibe with what sounds like a retro 90s game soundtrack coursing throughout the track.The lyrics are introspective, painting vivid pictures of solitary moments and the longing for connection.
The production quality is top-tier, ensuring each element—whether it’s the delicate synths or the powerful vocals—stands out clearly, making for a cohesive and immersive listening experience. "Lonely Dayz" is a standout track that highlights MJayNumberOne's ability to fuse past and present sounds to create something truly compelling.
